Who are you? Why are you here?

Creatives answer these questions through their art. Even if they don’t realize it. Everything we build resonates with our audiences to paint images in their minds and alter reality. We use art to give freedom to perspective. It allows creatives to have deeper conversations about life, love, pain, and other emotions, from the heart and soul of an explorer.

Who are you through your art? Why are you here?

This is the CTZNS Way

Much of what we do here at The CTZNS is based on a 2018 study by PR Newswire that highlights the impact of entertainment. We despise those that suggest “it’s just entertainment.” There is no such thing. Everything has meaning, including the light that you share with the world. 76% of surveyed Americans suggest that entertainment has played a major role in who they are today. 63% say entertainment has influenced their hope for the future, friendship circles, and romantic relationships. 93% see entertainment as essential to health and happiness, while 92% think entertainment is a fundamental need. There is no such thing as ‘just entertainment’. It is a vehicle for connection, even if it’s not realized.

Knowing how entertainment truly vibrates with audiences allows us to be intentional about creating things that empower the village. Personally, I believe in the power of sharing our stories, but there are other ways to connect through art. You may not be comfortable with revealing what’s behind your curtains. I’ve found a balance between privacy and sharing through fiction writing. That’s why I do so much of it. There’s freedom in expression and sometimes, I free myself by speaking through fictional characters in one of my stories. Some do it through music. Others do it through various forms of media. The key is that creators can free themselves through their art. Expression can handle the weight of your world and lift the village up with it. Entertainment is a powerful medium.

Let Your Light Shine

Let this be a reminder to be intentional with what you’re creating. As you plan that business, write that book, design that shirt, or whatever your crusade calls for, focus on building monuments for people to revisit to be inspired and empowered. You are the key to many doors in the village. The light is trying to speak through your stories.
