Media Professionals Invited to Virtual Conversation on Ethical Suicide Reporting, Co-Hosted by Brian James

AFSP Western New York and CTZNS founder Brian James will host a virtual discussion on responsible reporting and suicide prevention.

Journalists, broadcasters, and media professionals across the country are being invited to participate in an important virtual conversation about how responsible storytelling can help save lives.

On Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 at 7:00 PM, the Western New York Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will host “Ethical Reporting on Suicide Saves Lives,” a virtual presentation designed to help media professionals understand the impact their reporting can have on vulnerable audiences.

The event will feature Anne Nowak, President of AFSP Western New York, alongside Brian James, Baltimore radio personality and founder of The CTZNS, who has worked alongside AFSP in several markets to promote responsible reporting and mental health awareness.

The presentation will explore how media coverage can influence public behavior, while offering practical guidance on how journalists and content creators can approach suicide-related stories with care, accuracy, and prevention in mind.

Media professionals, communications leaders, students, and anyone responsible for public messaging are encouraged to attend. This is a public event and registration is not required.
