It has been an exciting summer for us here in the village. We’ve accomplished many of our goals, though some marks were missed. We’ve pivoted gracefully when needed. Most importantly, we’ve stayed true to the light of our purpose and remain committed to empowering our village of thought leaders in entertainment and media who courageously use their art to impact the world.

In this edition of Roadmap, we’ll focus on the vision behind a major change to our online presence. I’ll share the theory behind how this shift will bring the village closer to its calling.

CTZNSIX Merges with CTZNS.US

This is a massive change.

Last week, we began migrating content from our lifestyle website, ctznsix.com, to this site, ctzns.us. We will continue to share CTZNSIX content from its new home. CTZNSIX traffic on release days for its featured content was incredible. However, our data suggests that the village will benefit from organizing all CTZNS-based content into one central location, ctzns.us.

We’ve installed a tab that will organize CTZNSIX content among other written pieces on this site. We’ve even carried over the individual categories to organize the features even more, so you can get updates from whatever corner of the culture you’re looking for.

Interviews, features, sports; it’s all there.

Maximum Exposure for Our Campaigns

One of our busiest days on CTZNSIX this year was when we released a feature article with NBA analyst Amber Wright-Burnett. Her interview offered a candid analysis of her favorite NBA team, the Boston Celtics, and their pursuit of their subsequent NBA championship. The article spiked site views and was even shared with players on the Celtics roster.

Magical.

But, here’s the letdown.

I can’t stop thinking about what would have happened if one of those players (influential individuals) had seen one of our projects that we’re building for the community. It would be cool for them to tap into some of our entertainment and media brands, but imagine if they saw The Forward Project and wanted to support it? One share from them could have helped us gain the necessary visibility to put this project on another level.

That’s just one example, but you can imagine how maximum exposure can elevate the village. It’s all about opportunity.

The Biggest Lesson of This Year is Organization

And we’ve learned that lesson hard. It’s all on me, though. My mind works like water streaming down a canyon. Sometimes I have to wrangle my thoughts in line.

I don’t have the data on it, but I’ve gotten several messages about how we distribute our content. They were hopeful, but confused. Pulling people’s attention in multiple directions is putting distance between them and the peace of understanding.

Our goal is already ambitious. Answering the call of increased organization gives us a better shot at being successful.

Thank You for Your Patience

Most content has been migrated already. There may still be formatting and detail (metadata) issues for a few days as we continue to iron out the transition. If you see something you enjoy, please engage! It will help us. I think you’ll enjoy what CTZNSIX has to offer and appreciate having it all in one place.

We are better together. Our village will continue to inspire others, and we’re looking forward to continued service. Our analytics are trending upward across all platforms. Your support has been phenomenal.

This site migration will empower us even more.
